The Suwyda Diaspora Network is an independent, voluntary network bringing together registered diaspora associations and individual activists from across Europe. Established in 2024 through collaborative consultations among key Druze expatriate organizations, it serves as a neutral platform for coordination and information sharing to support humanitarian and civic efforts benefiting communities in Sweida and the wider Syrian Druze population, which is recognised as a religious and cultural minority
The Network operates through a Coordination Committee composed of representatives from each participating association and supported by independent activists offering expertise in humanitarian and civic fields. This structure facilitates inclusive decision-making and ensures a collaborative approach in line with international humanitarian principles.
While designed as a long-term platform for strengthening community resilience and development, the Network also responds to humanitarian emergencies by documenting urgent needs, raising awareness among international partners, and supporting coordination efforts to ensure assistance reaches those most in need
The Network does not engage in political activities, nor does it manage or distribute financial resources. Its work is entirely volunteer-driven, focusing on fostering partnerships, sharing best practices, and amplifying the voices of affected communities in a neutral and constructive manner.
